Strictly Come Dancing 2015: the final final

And we still don’t know who finished 2nd and 3rd…

We begin by recapping ‘earlier and tonight’s show’ – which feel like the same thing – before we find out that Katie Derham and Anton Du Beke have finished fourth and are duly unelected from the glitterball running.

Couples’ choice

Jay McGuiness and Aliona Vilani –¬†Paso Doble to ‘It’s My Life’ by Bon Jovi

A fierce Paso Doble with style and command to a fabulous song (even if it doesn’t work that fantastically). Jay has strong lines and footwork and, yes, he has come a very long way in this competition and conquered the nervous shaggy dog he once was but…..lighten up, it might not happen man.

Judges: Craig 9, Darcey 10, Len 10, Bruno 10 = 39/40

At this point, I’m fed up of writing about dances I’ve already seen so I’m going to put some of my lovely followers (thanks for all the tweets, cannot embed all (and all said the same thing more or less!)) in and what dance they wanted to see again…

Georgia May Foote and Giovanni Pernice – Charleston to ‘Hot Honey Rag’ from Chicago

I think this was the perfect choice for this couple to redo. It sums up the Strictly pairing – fun, flirty and full of life. I couldn’t find fault with this the first time and so I cannot see any this time either. If anything, her lifts were even better because her transitions were definitely more perfected. The whole thing flowed a lot better than before.

Judges: Craig 10, Darcey 10, Len 10, Bruno 10 = 40/40

Kellie Bright and Kevin Clifton –¬†Charleston to ‘Starwars Cantina Band’ by¬†John Williams

Kellie seems genuinely devastated the series is over – which is fine – but somebody needs to tell her she can stay in touch with Kevin Clifton.

A vibrant routine with lots of life and lots of content packed in. No problems with this one first time either – it was brilliant synchronised and had some epic footwork. It was just as good this time. Even if I do think it was picked due to the film coming out this week…

Judges: Craig 9, Darcey 10, Len 10, Bruno 10 = 39/40

After an ENDLESS video of random members of the public discussing their highlights of the series (like we care?), Ellie Goulding appears on stage with our professionals whirling about a bit and throwing each other in the air.

The final cast dance of the series rolls around next and is a major assault on all eyes. Strangely enjoyable though – not that I caught it all in depth, I was too busy eulogising the show on my personal twitter account.

After yet another montage, we’re ready to find out the winner…. (but not¬†2nd and 3rd…)……

Aliona is now the first professional to win the show twice. Both times with boyband members. There is a lesson in their somewhere…
