Strictly Come Dancing 2014: week three results

Tonight, a third couple exited the competition after a dreaded dance-off, Lady GaGa and some great professional dancing.

After a professional dance with weird face-paint, a door and a recap we got down to tonight’s jam-packed results show. Tonight features the first live (/was live last night) outing for Lady GaGa and Tony Bennett.

In

Thom and Iveta, Sunetra and Brendan, Caroline and Pasha, Simon and Kristina and Judy and Anton.

Maybe out

Mark and Karen.

Tony Bennett and Lady GaGa

Singing a compilation of hits accompanied by Natalie and Trent at regular intervals. Literally, they appeared for a few seconds and then disappeared again. The whole thing was like some random pub night at a Halloween party. But respect to Tony Bennett, what a star!

Len’s Lens

Talking about trousers, lifts, dance terminology, knee kicks, cape work and Darcey’s reaction to Brendan accidentally airing his twins.

In

Steve and Ola, Jake and Janette, Pixie and Trent, Frankie and Kevin, Alison and Aljaž and Scott and Joanne.

Maybe out

Tim and Natalie.

Dance-off

Mark and Karen would have to forget the entire routine to go out to Tim tonight. Actually, forgetting probably wouldn’t make much difference. I hate this mismatched dance-offs – I know it happens but it makes me doubt the point of a dance-off sometimes. Mark’s kicks seemed more pronounced but apart from that it was as good as before.

Laboured and lack-lustre (hi Craig) from Tim again but who came blame him? He’s dead cert to be off and I think he knows nothing can save him now. Shame for Natalie and her excellent teaching skills but I guess that’s the nature of the game. The routine showed no real signs of improvement and felt very final.

OUT: Tim Wonnacott and Natalie Lowe
