Strictly Come Dancing 2013: the final, part two
Who will finish fourth? And who will win?
IT’S THE GRAND FINAL.
FINISHING FOURTH….Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Brendan Cole! No Charleston for us.
Susanna Reid and Kevin Clifton – Paso Doble to ‘Los Toreadors’ (Carmen)
Excellent the first time, excellent the second. Full of energy, feistiness, storytelling and traditional Paso Doble moves complete with traditional soundtrack.
Just fantastic. It had so much drama. Probably my dance of the series.
My score: 10
Actual score: Craig 9, Darcey 10, Len 10, Bruno 10 = 39/40
Craig there, keeping his promise to never give Susanna a 10.
Abbey Clancy and Aljaž Skornajec – Quickstep to ‘Walking On Sunshine’ (Katrina and The Waves)
Props ‘n all. Could get a bus through the gap. But everything else was perfect, Abbey has really done wonders this series.
My score: 9
Actual score: Craig 9, Darcey 10, Len 9, Bruno 10 = 38/40
Natalie Gumede and Artem Chigvintsev – American Smooth to ‘And I’m Telling You, I’m Not Going’ (Jennifer Hudson)
Genuinely cannot work out if she is acting or crying. Or in pain.
This could almost be a professional routine, everything about it is a joy to watch. I’ve not always been her biggest fan but that routine was a sight to behold. Everything worked.
My score: 10
Actual score: Craig 10, Darcey 10, Len 10, Bruno 10 = 40/40
I’m actually torn between who I want to win. EVERYONE IS CRYING.
TEA BREAK: Cast of 2013 dance. Robbie Williams murdering ‘Puttin’ On The Ritz’. Going around harassing the public to find out their favourite moment.
Public videos: Meh. They never asked me.
Robbie: At least he used our professionals.
Class of 2013 VT: Boring.
Class dance: Just don’t. It was simultaneously the best and worst thing I have ever witnessed. It was like an end-of-term-play.
Christmas reminder: 5pm on December 25th. Always thought Christmas Day is a stupid time for the special. I reckon evening Christmas Eve would work. All the kids are excited, everyone is excited. You’ve eaten all you can until the big day. It’s all warm and festive. Perfect.
AND THE WINNER…
ABBEY CLANCY AND ALJAŽ SKORNAJEC.
2nd and 3rd? We’ll never know. Well we might. But now I am pressing publish.
Lots of love,
